Family planning services

Family planning nurses are available by appointment every afternoon and some mornings. We provide a full range of contraceptive methods including the pill, diaphragm/cap, IUCD, implants, condoms, injectable and natural family planning together with the following: - Confidential service for under 16's - Emergency contraception (effective for up to 5 days after unprotected intercourse) - Pregnancy testing - Referral for abortion (and counselling) - Advice on safer sex.

Ante-natal clinic

The Midwife and Health Visitor hold evening parentcraft classes at Warwick House and the doctors see ante-natal patients in their normal surgeries. Please ask for details for the evening parentcraft classes.

Family Health Clinics

To have your baby weighed or to discuss your family health please ring the surgery to book an appointment with the Health Visitor on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings 9.30 am to 11.30am.

The Health Visitors are available to give telephone advice. Leave a message on the answerphone and a Health Visitor will return your call.

Child Development Checks

The Health Visitors and doctors organise regular checks for children under 5 years old. Appointments are sent through the post. All children are seen at 6 weeks, 7 months, 2 years and a preschool check.

Child immunisation clinic

This is held on Wednesdays and appointments are sent in the post. It is vital that your child keeps these appointments - please contact Nurse Rebecca Parry if there are any problems and she can arrange an alternative time for you.

Well woman service

This includes cervical smears and breast examination and is available by appointment with the nurse.

Well person checks

This is a health promotion service with special advice on avoiding heart disease. Patients may book appointments through reception.

Menopause advice

For individual advice make an appointment with one of the doctors.

Diabetic clinic

Our diabetic nurse, Elaine Bagwell organises this monthly.

Asthma clinic

Nurse Rebecca Parry holds an asthma clinics every week and anyone may make their own appointment at the clinic. We aim to help all people with asthma become symptom free.

Vasectomies

Vasectomies are available at Warwick House. Please ask at reception for details.

Minor surgery sessions

To avoid you having to go to the hospital the doctors perform many small operations at Warwick House. See your own doctor first.

New patient check-up

New patients are invited to meet the doctor with whom they have registered and have a routine examination.

Travel clinic and Yellow fever vaccination centre

We offer a comprehensive advisory and vaccination service for overseas travellers.
