Our practice pharmacist is available on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday to assist with any medication related queries. She also holds a weekly clinic for asthma, medication and blood pressure reviews. Please contact the reception team to book an appointment.

Our practice nurses work in the medical centre every day and their duties include:

  • dressing and wound care
  • immunisations and injections
  • suture removal
  • ear irrigation
  • blood tests
  • cervical smear tests
  • new patient checks
  • blood pressure monitoring
  • urinalysis
  • Dietary advice/general health advice
  • asthma/COPD monitoring
  • travel health
  • pre-vasectomy advice
  • dopplers and hosiery measurement
  • pill checks and contraceptive advice
  • diabetes monitoring
  • assisting with minor operations/coil fittings
  • 24hr BP and ECG monitoring

Community nurses

Our community nursing team is employed by Somerset Partnership to visit patients confined to home. They liaise closely with the Doctors to provide and co-ordinate nursing and medical care following discharge from hospital and for those with prolonged illness.

Community Midwife

Our community midwife holds weekly ante-natal clinics at Warwick House and co-ordinates parentcraft classes. She also visits patients at home when necessary for both ante-natal and post-natal care.

Musculo-skeletal Practitioners

Steve Pickup & Neil Smith

Steve & Neil are in the practice Monday to Thursday and should be used as first port of call for any muscular issues such as strains and sprains. Appointments can be booked directly, no referral is needed.


Ellie is with us on a Monday. Appointments are made by referral from a GP.

Mental Health Practitioners

We have a mental health worker in the practice on Monday afternoons. Please speak to a GP who will refer you for an appointment.

Health visitors

Alison Kalwa, our health visitor, specialises in the care of mothers, babies and preschool children. She calls at Warwick House every day during the week and can be contacted via the Health Visiting Team hub on 0300 323 0115.
